Riverside Memorial Hospital

During and after a snowstorm, there will be both route and schedule changes for the hospital employee bus. The bus will run 15 minutes early, so in the first stops (at Artesian and Riverdale), the bus will be approximately 10 minutes early. These stops are on a hillside, so please wait at the top of the hill, so that the driver can stop safely. When the driver approaches, step back from the curb. The driver will stop away from the snowdrifts on the side of the road, so next check for traffic, walk carefully to the bus, and board from the street. Once on the bus please proceed quickly as far back as possible so we do not block traffic. The bus will not stop at Bellevue Square or the Stadium. Employees usually boarding at those places will be picked up at the Eastdale Mall stop, which will be approximately 5 minutes early. The final stops, at Robinson and Clark, will be about 5 minutes behind schedule. Ice storms may cause the shuttle service to be canceled for a period of time. Listen to your local radio station after an ice storm. When cancelations occur, you will receive an email announcement, and it will also be announced on the local radio station.

Question

It is the middle of a snowstorm, and you normally board the bus at the Stadium. What should you expect?

  1. A.The bus will be approximately 10 minutes early.
  2. B.The bus will be approximately 5 minutes early.
  3. C.The bus will be approximately 5 minutes late.
  4. D.The bus will not be stopping at the Stadium.
  5. E.The bus will stop away from the snowdrifts.

City Hall Evacuation Procedure

As the floor monitor for your area, you are responsible for ensuring that all persons in your area are accounted for. When the alarm goes off, first check each employee’s space to make sure they leave the building. Then check conference rooms and restrooms for visitors. Note the name of anyone who does not leave. If you are not on the ground floor, tell everyone to take the stairs to the ground floor and go out the main door. DO NOT USE ELEVATORS. If anyone needs help, call x2122 and the fire department will come.

Employees coming from the western exit should gather at the northwest corner of the parking lot across Apple Avenue so that everyone will be accounted for. Employees coming from the southern exit should gather at the northeast corner of the gazebo across from Grant Park. Employees coming from the northern or eastern exits should gather in the parking lot on Damen. Do not go toward Ocean Avenue or Lincoln Park. Wait until the fire department gives the all clear signal before re-entering the building.

INSTRUCTIONS TO SORTING DEPARTMENT:

SPECIAL PROJECT TO FIX ORDER #3434

The customer rejected the previous order. To meet the customer’s demands, five long, blue plastic bins have been rolled by the overhead door. Piled on the other side of this room are several thousand steel rods of varying lengths. These rods are to be sorted by length and placed in the bins. Please arrange rods according to the following criteria:

Bin “1” is for rods that are four to five meters long.

Bin “2” is for rods that have a length of over five meters, up to eight meters.

Bin “3” is for rods that have a length of over eight meters, up to ten meters.

Bin “4” is for rods that have a length of over ten meters.

Set apart any irregular or especially short or long rods. We cannot afford to have any RBs again. They frustrate the customer and lower our credibility. Please ensure the accuracy of your measurements and that rods are placed into the requisite bins. Further, be sure to measure any rods where it is not immediately evident to which bin they belong.

Question

You are tasked with sorting the rods. What does RB likely stand for?

  1. A.Rejected Bins
  2. B.Requisite Bins
  3. C.Red Bins
